Join us for a lecture featuring Bruce Berglund, Fulbright Global Scholar, Professor of History, Calvin College, and author of Castle and Cathedral in Modern Prague: Longing for the Sacred in a Skeptical Age.

As the oldest child of Tomáš Masaryk and his American wife Charlotte, Alice Masaryková grew up with a desire for public service. But how to do it? She found an answer while working with immigrants in the poor neighborhoods of Chicago. The lessons she learned there shaped her service as founding director of the Czechoslovak Red Cross and her role in the renovation of Prague Castle.

The program will be in English.
