American author Oksana Marafioti will present her new book, Live where there are songs.

Of half-Armenian and half-Roma origin, she grew up on a Roma theater tour through the former Soviet Union, allowing for a surprising level of freedom during Communist era.  As a Soviet immigrant with her family to the United States, she again experienced a kind of social exclusion.  This book about searching one’s own identity while breaking free from traditional stereotypes offers a unique insight.  Co-organized with the Václav Havel Library. Karolína Ryvolová will moderate.

In English with Czech interpretation.
